TLDR: A hardworking individual that spent more time working for his family than thinking of things for himself. After some concerns, his family urged him to spend time out of country to give him a sense of independence and just something to work with. It does work and he falls in love with America. Eventually deciding to reside in California as a lifeguard with surfing hobby. Interest in the fest was something that surfaced all because he found some poster tossed away at the pier. How touching.
